One of the most famous fountains in the world and one of the oldest sources of water in Rome. It is made primarily of travertine. Construction began in 1732 and was completed in 1762. Legend has it that tossing a coin in the fountain ensures a return trip to Rome (it worked for me), which results in about 3,000 euros tossed into the water per day (which is then given to charity)
